German Politician Caught Up in Scandal Over Campaign Posters – Bild
Sven Schulze, the prime minister of the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, has been the target of ridicule on social media over CDU campaign posters. Users pointed out campaign materials in which the same woman is first depicted in a wheelchair with a promise of “effective medication,” while on another poster she is shown standing next to the politician on her own two feet.
On social media, the mistake was mocked with jokes about “healing,” comparing the situation to biblical stories. Party representatives explained that the posters feature staged scenes to illustrate campaign slogans and reflect the experiences of people who, after treatment, are able to walk again.
The incident occurred amid preparations for the state elections on September 6, where the far-right, pro-Russian party “Alternative for Germany” leads in the polls with 42% support.

Sven Schulze, Prime Minister of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, has called on the governing CDU/CSU bloc to conclude personnel discussions at the federal level as soon as possible, so that they do not interfere with the campaign ahead of the state parliamentary elections. Voting in Saxony-Anhalt is scheduled for September 6.
