Russia is using Belarus to launch Shahed drones — Ignat

Russian forces are using Belarus and a number of neighboring countries as a route for their attack drones to fly into Ukraine.

This involves using these routes to launch and support Shahed-type drones that are attacking Ukrainian territory.

This was stated by Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, during a national television broadcast.

"The enemy uses the territory of Moldova, unrecognized Transnistria, Romania, and Belarus for these flights; specifically, this is a fact that remains a fact. We have repeatedly reported that Russian drones do not even fly over Ukrainian territory, bypassing potential areas where their drones could be shot down," Ignat noted.

He also noted that there may be certain towers and repeaters in Belarus that could help the enemy control its assets.

"We have often seen drones flying one after another toward our western regions right along the border with Belarus. To make them more resistant to electronic warfare suppression and to allow more drones to fly through, the enemy likely uses assistance from the neighboring state to ensure the drones reach their destination unimpeded," added the head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

Ignat also noted that he has no information regarding which specific command posts are located in Belarus, but pointed out that Ukrainian intelligence likely knows more.

Ignat spokeabout the targets and results of the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack.

The number of casualties from the Russian attack has risen in the Kyiv region. Currently, four people are known to have been killed and 15 wounded.

On the night of March 14, Russian troops carried out a massive attack on the Kyiv region using drones and missiles. Civilian settlements were hit, resulting in deaths and injuries.

The day before, Russian troops attacked the Hlukhiv community with guided aerial bombs, injuring three local residents. Private homes and cars were damaged, and cleanup efforts are underway. Rescue workers have already surveyed the area and confirmed that no one is trapped under the rubble.

There have been dozens of attacks on the front lines since the start of the day, with the heaviest fighting near Kostyantynivka.
