Trump announced April 7 as "Day of Bridges and Power Plants in Iran"
On Sunday, April 5, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to the Iranian leadership, demanding that they reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday, April 7.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, the American leader warned of large-scale strikes on critical infrastructure, calling April 7 both “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day.” Trump emphasized that if the demands are ignored, the country faces unprecedented destruction, which he compared to “living in hell.”

On Friday, April 3, the U.S. Air Force had already destroyed a strategic bridge between the Iranian capital, Tehran, and the city of Karaj.
As a reminder, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and is threatening a “harsh response” to ships.
