Turkey hopes to use the NATO summit to establish a dialogue with Trump — Reuters
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that NATO countries could use the July summit in Ankara to mend ties with U.S. President Donald Trump.
His remarks were quoted by Reuters.
Fidan noted that, in Turkey’s view, Trump will attend the NATO leaders’ summit on July 7–8 out of “personal respect” for Turkish President Recep Erdogan.
"NATO countries must turn this summit in Ankara into an opportunity to establish relations with the United States on a systematic basis. If the U.S. withdraws from certain NATO mechanisms, there must be a plan and a program for the gradual cessation of this process so that no one is left without protection," he added.
New Patriot systems are being deployed in Turkey - Al Jazeera.
Additionally, shelling in Lebanon has resulted in casualties.
A high-rise building in central Beirut has completely collapsed following an Israeli airstrike.
As a reminder, Israel is threatening to neutralize Mojtaba Khamenei.
Israel is also building up its forces against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
