MediaTek Dimensity 7300 vulnerability threatens smartphone security
Researchers at Ledger have uncovered a critical vulnerability in the popular MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, which can be exploited through an electromagnetic attack to gain full control over the device. Due to a flaw in the boot ROM, this issue cannot currently be patched. This vulnerability compromises the security of devices such as Solana Seeker smartphones that use this processor, making them unsafe for storing private cryptographic keys.

Ledger emphasizes that the only effective protection against such hardware-level attacks is the use of hardware wallets equipped with secure-element chips, which provide reliable private key storage and protection even against sophisticated hardware attacks.
This discovery highlights the critical importance of robust smartphone security, particularly for devices used in cryptocurrency storage. Going forward, demand for hardware-based security solutions and increased attention to software-hardware interaction in mobile devices are expected to grow.
