Lamborghini Temerario handed over to Italian police for emergency missions
Italy’s State Police have received a hybrid Lamborghini Temerario supercar, which will be used for emergency response, including the transportation of medical supplies and donor organs. The vehicle was handed over in the presence of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann and members of the company’s board of directors.
Hybrid powertrain
The Temerario is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors. The combined output of the powertrain is 588 kW, while torque stands at 800 Nm. The organ transport kit will be stored in the vehicle’s front luggage compartment.
As TimesLIVE reports, the Temerario is the latest Lamborghini vehicle handed over to the police as part of a partnership that has continued since 2004. In total, the company has handed over six vehicles to the Italian police since then.

Previous police vehicles
The first were two Lamborghini Gallardo 510-4 cars with V10 engines, handed over to the road unit in Rome in 2004. Over four years of service, they covered about 140,000 kilometers and were equipped with traffic monitoring devices.
In 2008, they were replaced by two Gallardo LP 560-4 vehicles, which operated in the central and southern regions of the country, including on the Salerno–Reggio Calabria motorway. These cars had refrigerated compartments for the rapid transportation of organs and defibrillators. In 2014, a Huracán LP 610-4 joined the fleet, while a second such vehicle was handed over in 2017.
In 2023, the police received a Lamborghini Urus Performante. It has a protected drawer for weapons, a folding information panel, a tool compartment, a defibrillator and a refrigerated container for organs with a display and data logger for continuous temperature monitoring.
