Tesla may offer customers robotaxi rides instead of loaner vehicles while their electric cars are being serviced. This possibility is indicated by code in the latest version of the company’s app, as reported by InsideEVs, citing Not A Tesla App.
Trips to the service center
The app’s code contains references to robotaxi rides for customers who leave their vehicles at Tesla service centers. Previously, the company used its own fleet of loaner vehicles and could also provide credits for Uber rides or offer no alternative transportation during repairs.
If the feature is launched, Tesla would not have to reserve a separate vehicle for the entire service period. According to InsideEVs, the company may already be able to know the location of the customer and their vehicle, the planned duration of the service visit, and the need for trips to and from the service center.

The publication also suggests that between transporting the customer, the robotaxi could serve other paying passengers. At the same time, this is only a possible scenario, not a service announced by Tesla.
Other transportation options
The discovered code also lists the transportation options Robotaxi, Paid Loaner, E-Bike, and Bolt. This may indicate that Tesla is considering several ways to ensure customer mobility while a vehicle is being repaired. The meaning of the Bolt designation is not specified in the report.
InsideEVs emphasizes that the mentioned features may never be launched. Even if implemented, they would not be introduced simultaneously in all locations, as Tesla robotaxis are not yet authorized for fully autonomous operation everywhere, and autonomous vehicles in some regions require a safety driver.
