On the night of October 6, 2026, two men were killed when a downed Russian missile exploded on the grounds of a garage cooperative in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. 

A massive crater formed at the impact site, and a large-scale fire completely destroyed the garage bays and nearby parked cars. According to preliminary reports, the victims worked as security guards for the cooperative and were on duty during the enemy shelling.

As a result of the powerful explosion, heavy concrete roof slabs collapsed on buildings near the epicenter, and some buildings were completely destroyed. Currently, the property owners are at the site of the fire, inspecting the destroyed premises and attempting to assess the amount of damage caused by the occupiers.

Kyiv police bomb disposal experts, together with State Emergency Service sappers, successfully recovered a ballistic missile with an unexploded warhead. The munition, weighing about 500 kilograms, was lying right in the middle of a residential area in the Darnytskyi district of the capital and posed a serious danger to local residents.

As a reminder, at least two people were killed in Kyiv as a result of a nighttime attack.
