Kyiv was flooded after a heavy downpour
On May 22, a heavy downpour in Kyiv caused flooding on some streets and severely disrupted traffic; the city was effectively hit by bad weather once again. This marks the fourth consecutive day that the capital and the surrounding region have been hit by rain and sudden weather changes.
Kyiv was once again hit by a heavy downpour, which in a very short time turned parts of the streets into flooded areas where traffic slowed down or became difficult, and in some places drivers had to navigate flooded sections of the road.
Local public groups are reporting flooding, posting videos from various parts of the capital showing large puddles and traffic jams caused by heavy rainfall.
Bad weather has kept Kyiv and the Kyiv region on edge for the fourth day in a row, as the weather shifts abruptly from rain to hail and heavy precipitation, which is sweeping over the region wave after wave. In particular, hail was also reported in Sofiivska Borshchahivka, adding to the problems faced by local residents and drivers forced to navigate difficult weather conditions.
Forecasters warn that similar weather conditions may continue, so residents are advised to closely monitor forecasts and exercise caution when traveling around the city.
In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, inclement weather has persisted for the third consecutive day—the region has been hit by heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls.
