Klitschko said a rise in water rates in the capital is inevitable
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that it is necessary to revise the rates for centralized water supply and wastewater services. According to him, a wave of changes in water utility rates is being observed across all regions of Ukraine, as the industry has found itself on the verge of shutdown due to rising prices for electricity, fuel, and chemical reagents.
The mayor noted that the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NKREKP) had recommended raising rates as early as 2024, but that decision was never implemented at the time. The mayor has not yet specified the exact timing of the rate adjustment or the final amounts that will appear on residents’ utility bills.
