Fish are dying in large numbers in the Irpin River in the Kyiv region
A mass fish die-off was discovered in the Irpin River near the village of Stoyanka in the Kyiv region. Local residents noticed the dead fish on Sunday, September 13.
The causes of the sudden die-off are currently unknown. Experts plan to collect water samples and conduct laboratory tests to determine the exact cause of the fish deaths.
Residents of the surrounding areas are urged to temporarily refrain from fishing or consuming fish from this section of the river until the results of the investigation are known.
