An antique market burned down in Pochayna: business owners are searching for any surviving items
On the night of June 14, the antique market on Pochayna Street in Kyiv was completely destroyed by fire following a massive Russian attack. In the aftermath of the fire, business owners and shopkeepers are trying to find any surviving items amid the rubble and salvage what remains of their property.
This was reported by Kyiv entrepreneur Olena Kondratyuk, who ran two shops there.
She said she arrived at the scene with other stall owners as early as 4 a.m. Now people are trying to find and salvage whatever they can from the ruins.
Rescue workers are still on the scene clearing the debris. Business owners who lost their shops and collections are assessing the damage.
“Many of my acquaintances know that I work here… worked here; I don’t know what will happen next. Ukraine’s largest official antique market no longer exists,” she said on Facebook.
