Drug dealers with nearly 3 million hryvnias worth of amphetamine were apprehended in Kyiv

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers dismantled a criminal group of three men who had organized the large-scale distribution of amphetamine and the storage of precursors. The total value of the seized goods, based on black market prices, exceeds 2.8 million hryvnias.

According to the investigation, two Kyiv residents, aged 38 and 44, were responsible for the large-scale and especially large-scale distribution of psychotropic substances, while their 43-year-old accomplice stored the precursors needed to manufacture new batches. 

During searches of the suspects’ apartment, garage, and country house, police seized amphetamine, chemical reagents, laboratory equipment, packaging materials, scales, as well as computer equipment and bank cards.

The suspects were detained. Investigators informed them that they were suspected of the illegal sale of psychotropic substances and the possession of precursors (Parts 2 and 3 of Article 307 and Part 3 of Article 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court ordered that all three suspects be held in pretrial detention.
