Police commented on the violence against a protester who was demonstrating against the cutting down of oak trees in Teremky
The police acknowledged that in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, during a protest near a construction site, one of the participants sustained an injury to her arm, but they claimed she was pulled away from the construction site for her own good.
According to the Kyiv Police, the actions of the officers—including community liaison officers—were intended solely to ensure public order and safety, as the presence of large-scale equipment, metal structures, and an excavated trench posed increased risks to citizens in the vicinity. A police paramedic provided the woman with first aid, and she was later examined by ambulance doctors. Information regarding this incident has been entered into the Unified Registry, and an investigation is underway.

As a reminder, in the Teremky neighborhood of Kyiv, during a protest over the construction of a backup heating network, another clash occurred between residents and employees of “Municipal Security.” One of the protesters sustained an arm injury as a result of the security guards’ actions.
The conflict arose over the construction of a backup heating network through a green space in the Teremky neighborhood. Local residents are protesting against the construction work and the felling of trees, while city authorities insist on the need to lay the network to improve the reliability of heat supply to the Teremky-1 and Teremky-2 districts.
On September 21, in the Teremky neighborhood of Kyiv, employees of the “Municipal Security” municipal enterprise and units of the National Police were deployed to secure the construction site where the backup heating network is being laid. The Kyiv City State Administration explained that some residents attempted to block the work of heavy equipment and construction crews.
The city administration noted that it respects residents’ right to peacefully express their views; however, people’s presence in the construction zone can pose a danger due to large-scale equipment, open trenches, and construction materials.
As a reminder, in the Teremky neighborhood, police are clearing a path for a heating pipeline, which involves cutting down 100-year-old oak trees.
Also in Teremky, Kyiv’s municipal security forces forcibly removed protesters.
