The shooting in Kyiv has been classified as a terrorist attack
Law enforcement officials have classified the shooting in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, which left six people dead, as a terrorist act.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko and the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to Kravchenko, a criminal investigation has been opened under Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—a terrorist attack resulting in loss of life.
It has been established that the attacker is a man born in 1968 who used a legally registered firearm.
Six people were killed in the attack. Among them were a man who died at the scene and a woman who later died in the hospital. Their son, born in 2015, is in the hospital with a gunshot wound.
The SBU noted that, together with the police and the prosecutor’s office, they are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, including the attacker’s motives.
In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, an unknown assailant opened fire on people. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed and others were injured.
