A major Podillia Ethnocultural Day will be held in Kyiv

UA.NEWS 06 June 2026 13:01
A major Podillia Ethnocultural Day will be held in Kyiv

On June 14, Kyiv will host the “Gul.Podillia” charity ethnocultural event. The organizers promise not just a festival, but a true immersion in the culture of one of Ukraine’s most vibrant regions through music, traditions, art, and live interaction.

Guests can look forward to lectures, a market featuring local artisans, traditional games, culinary discoveries, and a grand evening of music. All proceeds will go toward supporting the Ukrainian military.

The organizers emphasize that the main idea behind the event is to showcase Podillia not as a page from a history textbook, but as a living culture that continues to evolve today. “Gul.Podillia” is meant to be a place where tradition meets modernity, and where people get to know the region not through exhibits behind glass, but through personal experience.

The event will be hosted by the Hylko team—a cultural initiative dedicated to promoting Ukrainian history, culture, and regional heritage.

The daytime program will run from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Guests will be welcomed by a market featuring Ukrainian artisans, where they can purchase original jewelry, ceramics, and other handmade items. Special attention will be given to family history and ancestry.

Lecturer Svitlana Stolbyuk will speak about genealogy and Podillia roots. During the session, participants will learn how researching their own family lineage helps them better understand the history of their land and their family. For fans of unique activities, a vintage board game called “Flirt Kalina” has been prepared. It recreates popular pastimes of Ukrainian youth from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Participants will get to see how Ukrainians met, joked, and flirted over a century ago. The venue will also feature traditional hairstylists, artists sketching portraits by hand, a photo zone, and themed tattoos.

The organizers also promise a culinary component. Guests will be able to taste modern interpretations of traditional Podillia dishes and products. This will be an opportunity to see how familiar Ukrainian flavors can sound fresh while retaining their character.

The concert program will begin after 6:00 PM. Performers and bands whose work is connected to Ukrainian ethnic music and a modern reinterpretation of folklore will take the stage. Performing for guests will be:

  • BAROM;
  • “Stodivnytsia”;
  • LADA;
  • “Bisiki Band.”

In addition to the music, there will be a charity auction. The organizers plan to donate all proceeds to the “Vidnokolo” Charitable Foundation. The money will go toward the needs of the “Stugna” unit, which is part of the “Timur Special Forces” of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Gul.Podillia” will be the first event in a new series of regional ethno-festivals that the Gulko team plans to hold in the future. The organizers aim to showcase Ukrainian regions through their history, people, traditions, and contemporary culture. “This June, Podillia will come alive in Kyiv—through music, history, traditions, and new cultural meanings,” say the organizers.

Date: June 14, 2026. Time: 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location: Skvo Space, Hydropark, Kyiv. Admission to the event is a charitable donation starting at 250 hryvnias.

The event is sponsored by Morshynska water. The organizers encourage families to attend together, as the program is designed for both adults and children. The event will combine relaxation, an introduction to Ukrainian culture, and support for Ukrainian defenders.
