In Kyiv, 13 sotok of municipal land were illegally seized for use as a paid parking lot

In Kyiv, two men will stand trial for illegally seizing 13 sotok of municipal land on Bratislavska Street and setting up a paid parking lot there.

Investigators determined that the plot of land between the high-rise buildings had long been leased as a parking lot, but the contract with the city expired in May of this year. Despite this, security guards decided to continue operations and continued to charge drivers for parking.

Law enforcement officials have now completed the pre-trial investigation into the unauthorized occupation of the plot by a group of individuals and have filed an indictment with the court. 

This was reported by the Kyiv Police Communications Department.

Earlier, the Court of Appeals overturned an illegal decision by the Bucha District Council, and the 3,000-hectare Bilychansky Forest was returned to the Kyiv community.

Additionally, after nearly five years of legal proceedings, a complex of historic buildings dating from 1830 to 1910, located in the historic part of Podil at the foot of Zamkova Hill, was returned to the Kyiv community.
