More than 400 new components of Kyiv’s centralized public address system have been put into operation
In the left-bank districts of the capital—Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, and Dniprovskyi—more than 400 new components of the city’s centralized public address system have been installed.
The modernization of the equipment ensures a significantly clearer and more reliable signal in residential areas with dense high-rise development.
The new units are currently operating in test mode, promptly relaying signals and civil defense information to residents in the event of an emerging threat or during emergencies.
In addition to standard air raid sirens, the updated loudspeakers also broadcast announcements for the nationwide minute of silence.
The capital’s transition to a modern warning system is taking place gradually, which helps avoid any service interruptions or technical glitches in the process of informing the public.
“The new systems provide a clearer and more reliable signal in residential areas with high-rise buildings, and the system itself is capable of generating a wider range of messages, targeting specific audiences, and tailoring distribution to specific locations,” noted Petro Panteleev, Acting First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
In parallel with the expansion of the loudspeaker network in Kyiv, a series of scheduled civil defense drills is underway, during which specialists are thoroughly testing the effectiveness of all components and systems, including emergency notification channels.
Conducting such exercises is critically important for preparing city services for any possible scenarios, whether simulated or real.
This was officially reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
