A Geran-2 missile was seized near a roadway in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv
In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, National Police officers located and safely recovered an unexploded warhead from a Russian "Geran-2" strike drone.
The dangerous object was located in close proximity to the roadway at one of the busy intersections in the city center.
The Russian munition ended up in the city center following another nighttime airstrike on the capital, during which the enemy used a combination of weapons.
Fortunately, the explosive device did not detonate upon impact, preventing casualties and significant damage to civilian infrastructure. Passersby noticed the suspicious metal object in time and immediately called emergency services.
“Following the massive shelling of the Ukrainian capital carried out by the enemy last night, the 102 hotline received a report regarding the discovery of an explosive device located near the roadway at one of the busy intersections in the center of the capital,” the statement reads.

Patrol police crews quickly arrived at the scene of the emergency, immediately cordoned off the danger zone, and blocked traffic to ensure public safety.
The investigative team thoroughly documented this incident as yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation against the civilian population.
Immediately afterward, bomb disposal experts began the delicate process of dismantling and loading the remains of the deadly weapon.
Experts identified the found fragments as a combat element of a standard kamikaze drone, which the occupying forces are using en masse to strike Ukraine.
The dangerous find has now been transported outside the city for disposal.
“According to preliminary data, the discovered debris is the combat unit of a ‘Geran-2’ type unmanned aerial vehicle, which the Russian Federation launched into Ukrainian territory during a combined attack,” the police reported.
This was officially reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv.
