Kirkorov announced his involvement in preparing Bulgaria's winning entry for Eurovision 2026

The controversial Russian singer Philip Kirkorov, an outspoken supporter of the Putin regime, has announced his involvement in preparing the performance for Bulgaria’s representative at “Eurovision 2026”—the singer DARA.

According to the Putin supporter, it was his team that worked on staging the performance for the Bulgarian singer, who achieved a historic victory.

At the same time, the artist’s official representatives and the Bulgarian broadcaster have not yet commented on these sensational claims in any way.

Daryna Yotova (DARA’s real name) secured her country’s first-ever victory in the contest’s history with the song “Bangaranga.”

It was previously reported that a friend of Putinist Filip Kirkov—Greek composer Dimitris Kontopoulos—was involved in the creation of her contest entry.

Eventually, a video appeared online in which the artist comments on his alleged involvement in creating the contest performance and confirms his collaboration with Kontopoulos.

In a comment to Russian propagandists, Kirkorov made a series of cynical statements and mentioned Ukraine in the context of the usual Kremlin narratives.

Kirkorov emphasized that he considers Bulgaria his second home and could not refuse to help. The singer’s propaganda statements were aimed at demonstrating his supposed influence on the European music contest.

“I’ve devoted so many years to Eurovision, guiding and helping so many. I have stood under various flags: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova… It would be a sin not to stand under the flag of my second home—Bulgaria… When Bulgarian television approached me with a request to support Bulgaria this year, I couldn’t deny myself the pleasure,” the Putinist cynically stated.

In addition, the controversial singer also made a series of cynical, politicized statements, calling Bulgaria “Russia’s 16th republic” and claiming that Bulgarians supposedly “miss the Russian Federation.”

Separately, he stated that he could have attended the contest but allegedly avoided a public appearance due to “unhealthy interest” and possible misunderstanding in Russia, adding that “music has no boundaries with politics.”

It is important to note that neither the singer DARA herself nor Bulgaria’s official broadcaster BNT has yet publicly commented on Kirkorov’s statements.

Following Bulgaria’s victory at “Eurovision 2026,” discussions have already arisen regarding DARA’s potential collaboration with the Russian music scene.

Ukrainians on social media have drawn attention to the issue, expressing outrage over the singer’s team’s ties to representatives of the aggressor country.

At this time, Kirkorov’s claims about his personal involvement in the preparation remain unconfirmed, but a shadow has already been cast over the winner’s reputation.
