Syrian Culture Minister Saleh visits Medina Research Center — Asharq Al-Awsat

Syrian Culture Minister Muhammad Yassin Saleh visited the Medina Research and Studies Center. As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, he learned about the institution’s academic and cultural work, its projects to document Medina’s history, and efforts to preserve its heritage.

Library and historical collections

During the visit, Saleh toured the center’s facilities and its specialized library. It holds sources, reference publications, and academic collections devoted to the history, landmarks, and cultural heritage of Medina. The center also provides informational and academic services to researchers and all interested persons.

Exhibition of rare photographs

The Syrian minister also visited an exhibition of rare photographs of Medina, featuring materials on the city’s historical and urban development. He was informed about the center’s work to collect, preserve, catalogue, and provide access to historical sources, documents, and photographs.

Saleh also learned about the institution’s research, documentation, and publishing activities, including its work to preserve the history of Medina and the Two Holy Mosques. The minister noted the center’s contribution to supporting academic research, advancing knowledge, and safeguarding cultural heritage.
