Musician King Promise creates anthem for Chelsea fans in Africa — MyJoyOnline

Ghanaian musician King Promise, in collaboration with Chelsea Football Club, has created an official anthem for the team's supporters in Africa. The song is titled Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem). It was written as part of a club initiative intended to celebrate its connection with fans on the continent.

As MyJoyOnline reports, the track was officially released in September. It will be played at Chelsea matches during the 2026/27 season. King Promise is a longtime supporter of the London club, and the partnership also includes a documentary filmed in Ghana.

Filming in Accra

The music video for the song was filmed at two locations in Accra: during the Rent Paid exhibition football tournament and at Nungua SDA Park, where King Promise played football as a child.

More current news is available on the UA.News Telegram channel Telegram.

The Rent Paid tournament brought together Chelsea supporters from different parts of Ghana, including Team DWP, Team New Media and Amen X Eleven. The event also served as the African unveiling of the club's new home kit.

Football roots

King Promise said that returning to Nungua SDA Park was an important part of the project, as it was there, according to him, that his love for football began, along with playing with friends and connecting with the community through matches. The video was directed by Derrick Arthur; the clip combines tournament footage with the musician's performance in the park.

Chelsea brand director Scott Fenton said that King Promise himself proposed the idea for the track, and that his connection with the club made the collaboration natural. According to Fenton, the project is intended to celebrate African fans and the culture surrounding the team.
