Sienna Spiro makes MTV Video Music Awards debut with Great Expectation — Rolling Stone

English singer and songwriter Sienna Spiro performed at the MTV Video Music Awards 2026 ceremony for the first time on September 27, performing the single Great Expectation. As Rolling Stone reports, the artist is also nominated for an award in the Best New Artist category.

Spiro took to the stage in a metallic dress and began her number under a spotlight, standing on a vinyl record prop placed on a turntable. The lighting later revealed the full staging of the performance. A large band, including brass and string sections as well as backing vocalists, performed alongside the singer.

Also nominated with Spiro in the Best New Artist category are Bella Kay, Cortis, Magnus Ferrell, Malcolm Todd, Myles Smith, and Stella Lefty.

Album and upcoming concerts

Spiro gained attention through TikTok videos in which she performed covers and her own songs. Her 2024 single Maybe was included on her debut EP, Sink Now, Swim Later.

In July, the singer released her debut full-length album, Visitor. According to the publication, the record reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and number nine on the Billboard 200. The album produced, among others, the singles You Stole the Show, Die on This Hill, The Visitor, and Great Expectation.

After the MTV Video Music Awards, Spiro is scheduled to perform at the Austin City Limits festival on October 2–4 and 9–11. Her North American tour begins on October 13 in Nashville and concludes with a concert in Los Angeles on November 12.
