The cause of Sosedov's death has been revealed: the Putin supporter died after falling down a flight of stairs in Yakutia
The preliminary cause of death of Russian journalist, music critic, and Putin supporter Sergei Sosedov has been revealed. The 58-year-old TV host died during a work trip to Neryungri in Yakutia.
According to the Russian publication Mash, Sosedov was on his way to breakfast when he fell down a flight of stairs and hit his head hard. His relatives were told that an accident had occurred. He died from injuries sustained in the fall. Other Russian media outlets have also confirmed the details of the fall.
At the same time, according to Mash, Sosedov may have suffered a blood clot immediately before the fall. His relatives told reporters that about a week ago he had complained of feeling unwell, and he had previously had heart problems.
According to a preliminary theory, the thrombosis may have been linked to the long flight to Yakutia. However, his relatives assert that Sosedov did not abuse alcohol and had not consumed it at all for a long time.
At the time of his death, Sosedov was in Neryungri, where he was scheduled to participate in several events. Specifically, on September 25, he was set to chair the jury for the “Pearl of the Far East 2026” contest.
The journalist’s death was reported on September 23 by his colleague, TV host Vadim Takmenev. He called Sosedov an integral part of the “Superstar” project team and announced that the new season of “VIA Superstar” would be dedicated to his memory.
Serhiy Sosedov was notorious in Ukraine, particularly as a judge on the music show “X-Factor.” After Russia launched its full-scale invasion, he voiced support for the Russian government’s actions.
