In Zaporizhzhia, hundreds of schoolchildren and DakhaBrakha put on a record-breaking performance
In Zaporizhzhia, as part of the four-day GOGOLFEST festival, a large-scale art performance titled “Hymn to Life,” directed by Vlad Troitsky, took place and was officially recognized as a new Ukrainian record. Due to the constant threat of missile attacks and airstrikes, 95 percent of the festival’s events had to be held in shelters and bomb shelters.
During the main event, the folk band DakhaBrakha performed a live concert from an underground parking garage, while hundreds of students from 16 underground schools in various parts of the city performed a synchronized dance routine dedicated to their own experiences during the war and their vision of the future.

The broadcasts from all underground locations were combined into a single telecast, after which representatives of the Ukrainian Book of Records officially recognized it as the largest synchronized underground art performance set to a live concert. In addition, the festival program included a tree-planting ceremony on Khortytsia Island in honor of fallen soldiers, accompanied by a performance by the band Dakh Daughters; the premiere of a rock opera by DakhTrio; and performances of foreign theater productions held directly inside the bunkers.
