Vladimir Klitschko filed a petition regarding Hayden Panettiere's estate

Hayden Panettiere's former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, has filed an urgent petition in a Los Angeles court regarding the late actress's estate. The boxer is asking to be appointed temporary guardian of the estate of their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, who is Panettiere’s sole heir.

Vladimir Klitschko filed the petition on September 24. 

According to him, the decision is necessary to protect the actress’s assets from possible loss, damage, or misappropriation during the investigation into her death.

According to media reports, Hayden Panettiere’s estate was estimated at approximately $6 million. Klitschko seeks to ensure that, once the necessary investigative procedures are completed, the actress’s property and funds are preserved and transferred to her legal heir—Kaya.

The court filing states that Kaya is a U.S. citizen and resides abroad with her father, Wladimir Klitschko. Hayden Panettiere was also a U.S. citizen and a resident of California. She died on August 16, 2026, without leaving a will.

“Kaya is a U.S. citizen residing abroad with her father, Vladimir. Hayden, a U.S. citizen and resident of California, died on August 16, 2026, without leaving a will. Although Kaya is not a resident of California, this court has jurisdiction over the administration of Kaya’s estate because, as the heir, Kaya is entitled to the entire amount of assets subject to probate in the Hayden estate in California,” the statement reads.

The purpose of the motion is to ensure that Wladimir Klitschko can receive, manage, and preserve the deceased actress’s assets on behalf of their daughter.

The boxer also noted that he currently has no personal representative who could defend Kaya’s interests in the case regarding the transfer of Hayden Panettiere’s estate.

The motion pays particular attention to the security of Hayden Panettiere’s home and possible unauthorized access to her property.

According to Wladimir Klitschko, even before the actress’s death, additional security measures were implemented at her home due to an unknown individual who allegedly gained “unauthorized access” to her property.

Despite the measures taken, Klitschko fears that this person may continue to attempt to take possession of Panettiere’s property.

In addition, some of the actress’s personal belongings, including jewelry, have disappeared or remain missing.

“Some items are currently in the custody of law enforcement agencies as part of an ongoing investigation. It is extremely important to appoint an administrator for Hayden’s estate to take inventory of the missing assets and coordinate with law enforcement agencies,” urged Panettiere’s former fiancé.

Klitschko also stated the need to preserve Hayden’s property until a permanent representative for her estate is appointed. According to him, any delay could create the risk of loss or misappropriation of assets that are to be passed on to Kaya.

Hayden Panettiere died on August 16, 2026, at the age of 36 in South Carolina. She is survived by her only daughter, Kaya, whom she had with Wladimir Klitschko.

It was previously reported that following the actress’s death, law enforcement conducted an investigation, including a search of her home in Los Angeles.

According to the Greenville County coroner, Panettiere’s death was ruled an accident, caused by the toxic effects of several substances.

Meanwhile, in the probate case, Vladimir Klitschko emphasizes the need to protect Hayden Panettiere’s assets in the best interests of their daughter, Kaya.
