Trump administration considers diesel export ban — CNBC
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is examining whether a ban on diesel fuel exports could help address record-high prices for this fuel. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this on September 22 during a bilateral meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at UN headquarters in New York, CNBC reports.
Oil refining capacity
According to Bessent, the administration is determining whether such a ban is feasible given the total oil refining capacity. U.S. authorities are also assessing whether a full ban or a partial restriction on diesel fuel exports would be effective.

Decision on exports
Trump said that a decision on the possible introduction of an export ban would be made quickly, whatever it may be. At present, the U.S. administration is only considering the possibility of such a step, and no decision on restricting exports has yet been announced.
