Number of active oil rigs in the US rises to 450 — OilPrice
In the United States, the number of active oil rigs increased by one over the week to 450. The total number of oil and gas rigs stood at 591, which is 52 more than in the same period last year, OilPrice reports, citing Baker Hughes data.
Oil and gas rig dynamics
The number of gas rigs increased by two during the reporting period, to 132. This is 14 more than a year ago. The number of rigs of other types remained unchanged at nine.
In the Permian Basin, the number of active rigs remained at 268, which is 14 higher than last year's figure. In the Eagle Ford shale basin, the figure rose by one rig to 51, or nine more year-on-year.

Oil production and prices
According to the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration, average crude oil production in the country for the week ending September 4 amounted to 13.947 million barrels per day. A week earlier, the figure was 13.862 million barrels per day, and compared with last year's level, it increased by 452,000 barrels per day.
At the same time, the Primary Vision Frac Spread Count indicator, which assesses the number of crews completing work on wells, declined for the fourth consecutive week. In the week to September 4, it fell to 178 crews, the lowest level since May.
Before the statistics were released, oil prices were falling: Brent traded at $105.07 per barrel, losing 2.38% during the day, while WTI traded at $99.60 per barrel, down 2.81%. At the same time, Brent was priced about $10 higher than a week earlier.
