Germany will provide Ukraine with an additional €250 million to support the energy sector
Germany will contribute an additional €250 million to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. This was announced by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the new contribution will bring Germany’s total aid to the Fund to €807 million. Thus, Germany remains its largest donor.
Shmyhal emphasized that the funds are intended to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s power grid ahead of winter, which will unfold against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks.
In total, international partners have already contributed over €2.4 billion to the Fund. At the same time, Ukraine needs to raise an additional €561.5 million to cover the needs of energy companies.
