Anthropic reported an annual revenue rate of $65 billion to investors

Anthropic told investors that its annualized revenue run rate reached $65 billion at the end of July. That’s roughly seven times more than a year earlier, according to CNBC, which cited two sources familiar with a confidential update for investors.

According to the publication, the developer of the Claude AI model sent these figures to investors last weekend. Bloomberg was the first to report the $65 billion figure. Anthropic did not provide a comment to CNBC.

The company also reportedly cited preliminary second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, which is 14 times higher than the figure from a year ago. In May, Anthropic stated that its annual revenue growth rate had exceeded $47 billion. At the same time, the company generated approximately $10 billion in revenue for all of 2025.

CNBC notes that Anthropic is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO). In June, the company confidentially filed a prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and held preliminary meetings with potential investors, but did not announce an official timeline for its IPO.

Anthropic’s main competitor, OpenAI, recently reached an annual revenue rate of $40 billion, CNBC reported. Anthropic aims to demonstrate continued growth to investors amid a company valuation of $965 billion.

In June, Anthropic temporarily restricted access to the Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models due to a government export control directive citing national security concerns. After approximately two weeks of negotiations, access to the models was restored.
