CJ Logistics plans to expand its network in the US and India
South Korean logistics company CJ Logistics intends to accelerate its overseas expansion in the second half of the year and shift its priority from scaling up to profitable growth. The company’s management said this at a meeting with employees and managers at its headquarters in Seoul, Korea Herald reports.
First-half results
CJ Logistics CEO Shin Young-soo said that parcel shipment volumes and fulfillment service sales grew at double-digit rates in the first half of the year despite challenging business conditions. According to him, the company also improved productivity and cost competitiveness through operational efficiency.
At the same time, operating profit was under pressure from external factors, including the war in the Middle East. Shin Young-soo called converting revenue growth into higher profits one of the key tasks for the second half of the year. He also noted that performance in global markets is important for the company’s next stage of development.
