Cucumbers have started to become more expensive in Ukraine due to seasonal factors

Ukrainian greenhouse complexes have raised their selling prices for cucumbers to 30–55 UAH/kg (0.67–1.23 USD/kg), which is, on average, 20% higher than last week’s figures. Currently, the market price for this product is, on average, 44% higher than during the same period last year.

The price increase is due to a reduction in the supply of open-field vegetables from local farms, as well as the fact that not all greenhouses have yet begun harvesting their second crop. Market participants do not rule out further price increases due to high demand.

This was reported by the “EastFruit” project.
