England close to clean sweep over Pakistan in Test series
England's cricket team completed its first innings with 453 runs in the third Test against Pakistan in Birmingham, United Kingdom, taking a lead of 320 runs. England already lead the three-match series 2-0 and are close to a 3-0 victory.
As Dawn reports, Dan Lawrence scored 65 runs, including reaching his half-century from just 47 balls with eight fours. Harry Brook scored 75 runs but was run out when his partnership with Lawrence had added 86 runs. At that point, England were 229 for five.
Lower-order contribution
Jamie Smith scored 69 runs before Razoulla caught him out. Ollie Robinson made 50 runs from 47 balls, while Jofra Archer scored 32 runs. Razoulla, making his Test cricket debut, finished the innings with four wickets for 148 runs conceded.
Mohammad Imran dismissed Lawrence and Gus Atkinson, who scored 19 runs. Lawrence's wicket was Imran's first in Test cricket.

Pakistan's problems
Pakistan scored only 133 runs in their first innings. None of the team's top five batters reached double figures, and Pakistan failed to score 200 runs in an innings in matches in England for the fifth consecutive time.
After losing the second Test by 194 runs, Pakistan released seven players and dismissed head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and his assistant Umar Gul. The team made four changes to its lineup for the match in Birmingham.
A 3-0 victory at the start of Joe Root's second spell as permanent captain would be a significant achievement for England. A few weeks earlier, the team lost a series to New Zealand, after which head coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes left their posts.
