Dynamo secured a victory over Veres in the final minutes of the match

Kyiv's Dynamo defeated Rivne's Veres in an away match in the second round of the Ukrainian Premier League. The match ended with a 2-1 victory for the Kyiv team.

Dynamo opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Following a corner kick, Bilovar headed the ball toward the goal frame, and Tymchyk followed up to put the visitors ahead. Before halftime, Veres had a chance to equalize, but Blair’s shot hit the crossbar.

Early in the second half, the home team finally scored. In the 52nd minute, Kharatin headed the ball, and Dynamo goalkeeper Surkis failed to hold onto it, allowing the ball to find the back of the net.

The Kyiv team could have taken the lead again in the 73rd minute, but Gorokh parried Yarmolenko’s shot off the crossbar.

Dynamo scored the winning goal in stoppage time. In the 92nd minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick, which Ponomarenko converted.

For Dynamo, this match was their first of the new UPL season. Their Round 1 match against Livyi Bereg was rescheduled due to the Kyiv team’s participation in European competitions.

In the next round, Dynamo will face Kolos on August 16, while Veres will take on Epicenter on August 14.
