Forward Harry Kane equals Shilton's England appearance record — BBC Sport
Forward Harry Kane made his 125th appearance for the England national team in the Nations League match against the Czech Republic, drawing level with Peter Shilton for the number of appearances for the national side. Shilton's record had stood for 36 years. This was reported by BBC Sport.
Kane is already England's all-time leading scorer: before his 125th match, he had 89 goals in 124 games. He scored his first goal for the national team 79 seconds after making his debut. At the age of 33, the Bayern forward remains an important player for both club and country.
From goalkeeper to forward
At the age of six, Kane attended a trial for the Ridgeway Rovers youth team. During training, he volunteered to play in goal and made good saves, but after moving out onto the pitch, he began scoring regularly and became a centre-forward.
Kane's goalscoring record for Ridgeway Rovers and the Waltham Forest district team attracted the attention of scouts. He was taken on by Arsenal, but the club did not keep the player in its academy, while Watford also did not sign him. Kane later joined Tottenham's academy at the age of 11 and, in July 2009, on his 16th birthday, signed a scholarship contract with the club.

Loans and breakthrough at Tottenham
In January 2011, Kane made his professional football debut while on loan at Leyton Orient. He scored five goals in 18 matches for the club. The forward then played on loan for Millwall, Norwich and Leicester. Kane's nine goals for Millwall helped the team avoid relegation from the Championship.
He made his first Premier League appearance for Tottenham in August 2012 and scored his first goal in the English league in April 2014 against Sunderland. The following season, Kane scored 21 goals in the top division and received his first call-up to the national team in March 2015.
Records for club and country
Kane ended his time at Tottenham as the club's all-time leading scorer, with 280 goals in 435 matches. He won the Premier League Golden Boot three times. In 2023, the forward moved to Bayern, for whom, according to BBC Sport, he has scored 152 goals in 154 matches, finished as the Bundesliga's top scorer three times and won two German league titles and the German Cup.
