In Los Angeles, United States, San Francisco Giants outfielder Lee Jung-hoo extended his hitting streak to three games in a matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Batting second and playing right field, he recorded one hit in two official at-bats and also drew a walk.

In the first inning, Lee Jung-hoo flied out; in the third, he drew a walk; and in the sixth, he hit a single to right field. He was replaced defensively in the bottom of the seventh inning. The player's batting average this season is .276.

Another Korean baseball player, Kim Ha-seong of the Atlanta Braves, went hitless for the fifth consecutive game in a road matchup against the Houston Astros. The shortstop, batting ninth, had four at-bats: he struck out twice and also recorded a groundout and a flyout.
Atlanta defeated Houston 4–2 and won the National League East title for the first time in three years. The Milwaukee Brewers, as winners of the Central Division, and the Dodgers, as winners of the West Division, also advanced to the National League playoffs.
In the American League, the Boston Red Sox secured a wild-card spot, joining the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees as the three East Division representatives in the playoffs.
