Mamelodi Sundowns beat Milford and draw level with Orlando Pirates on points
Football club Mamelodi Sundowns defeated league newcomers Milford FC 2-0 in a Betway Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Thanks to this victory, the team drew level with Orlando Pirates on points at the top of the standings, TimesLIVE reports.

After five rounds, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have identical records: four wins, one draw, no defeats and 13 points each. Orlando Pirates are in first place only because of a better goal difference — the team has conceded fewer goals.
Milford FC remained fifth with seven points after five matches. Durban City, Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United are lower in the table.

Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso changed the midfield in his starting lineup: Teboho Mokoena remained on the bench, while Bathusi Aubaas came in for him. Marcelo Allende and Bennett Mokoena also played in midfield.
In the 39th minute, Milford could have opened the scoring, but Thabana Mabena failed to beat goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, who came out to meet his opponent and was struck in the face by the ball. Later, Milford defender Olwethu Sele cleared the ball off the goal line after a Sundowns attack.
The scoring was opened in first-half stoppage time. Aubrey Modiba won the ball from Wusumuzi Mthabela near the byline and passed to Iqraam Rayners, who beat goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza. At the start of the second half, Cardoso brought on Teboho Mokoena in place of Aubaas.
