US Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall ends season due to concussion

US Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall has ended her 2026 season due to a severe concussion she suffered in a car accident. Because of the injury, the 27-year-old American track and field athlete was unable to train ahead of the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, scheduled for September 11–13 in Budapest, Hungary.

Injury in car accident

As reported by Channel NewsAsia, the athlete said last week that she was injured in a head-on collision while driving to training. The concussion prevented her from preparing for this week's competition.
