Pierre Gasly takes first career pole at Italian Grand Prix in Monza

In Monza, Italy, French Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly of the Alpine team took the first pole position of his career in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. On Saturday, on his final attempt, he set a lap time of 1 minute 21.786 seconds and beat British Mercedes driver George Russell by 0.060 seconds.

Advantage over Russell

Gasly overtook Russell with his final qualifying result. The French driver secured pole position while racing for Alpine, a team owned by Renault.
