Singapore's Tiffany Teo wins Asian Games gold — Channel NewsAsia
In Nagoya, Japan, Singaporean mixed martial arts fighter Tiffany Teo won the Asian Games gold medal in the traditional discipline in the women's under-60 kg weight category. In the final, she defeated Uzbekistan's Hilola Sobirova, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Singapore's first gold
Teo's victory became Singapore's first gold medal at the 20th Asian Games. The final bout took place at the Nagoya City Inae Sports Center.
For the 36-year-old athlete, this was the second meeting with Sobirova in recent months. In May, Teo lost to the Uzbek fighter in the final of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship.

Road to the final
Earlier at the Asian Games, the Singaporean defeated Arezou Salimihaletaki of Iran, and on Monday overcame Indian athlete Suchika Tariyal.
MMA debuts at the Games
Mixed martial arts were included in the programme of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games for the first time. Along with MMA, freestyle BMX, padel, surfing, teqball and virtual taekwondo also made their debut at the competition.
