Svitolina advanced to the round of 16 at the WTA 1000 in Toronto
Ukraine's top-ranked tennis player, Elina Svitolina, confidently advanced to the round of 16 at the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto. In her third-round match, the Ukrainian tennis player scored a convincing victory over Anastasia Potapova, who currently represents Austria.
Svitolina, seeded ninth, gave her opponent no chance. Both sets ended with the same score, 6-1, 6-1, and the match lasted just over an hour.

Thanks to this victory, Svitolina advanced to the round of 16, where a much tougher opponent awaits her.
In the match to advance to the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian will face American Amanda Anisimova, who is seeded eighth.

The match between the Ukrainian and Belgian national teams is scheduled for September 24. The match begins at 5:00 a.m. Kyiv time.
Prior to this, Elina Svitolina advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto. In a tough match, the Ukrainian defeated Spain’s Jessica Buzas Manero 6-7, 7-6, 6-4. The match lasted nearly three hours, and Svitolina clinched the victory after three tense sets.
