Debibi United coach Nii-Armah apologises for remarks about “white coaches”
In Ghana, Debibi United head coach Isaac Nii-Armah apologised for remarks about “white coaches” after a 2–2 draw with Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
Coach’s statement
After the match, Nii-Armah said that he has an unbeaten record in matches against coaches whom he called “white”. Asante Kotoko is led by South African specialist Eric Tinkler.
Later, the Debibi United coach said that he apologises if his words were perceived as racist. According to him, he was only expressing his opinion and calling for attention to be paid to the positive side of coaches’ work. He made this statement to Max FM, MyJoyOnline reports.

Match progress
Asante Kotoko took the lead in the 15th minute thanks to a goal by Yakubu Dogo. In the second half, Richard Owusu scored twice for Debibi United to put the hosts ahead, 2–1.
In the 79th minute, Hubert Gyau equalised for Asante Kotoko. After the draw, Debibi United are sixth in the standings and are preparing for their next match against Swedru All Blacks.
