Fairphone to unveil repairable Fairbuds 2 earbuds on October 14 — The Verge
Fairphone will unveil the Fairbuds 2 wireless earbuds on October 14, retaining the repairable modular design of the previous model. As The Verge reports, the new product will have seven fully replaceable modular parts.
Modular design
Fairbuds 2 will be the first successor to the Fairbuds earbuds released in 2024. The original Fairbuds were among the first wireless earbuds designed with replaceable components. The company has already published a teaser for the upcoming model, while media outlets had previously reported leaks about its substantially updated design.

LDAC support and price
The new earbuds will also support Sony’s high-quality adaptive LDAC Bluetooth codec. The first version of Fairbuds worked only with SBC and AAC codecs.
In Europe, Fairbuds 2 will be sold for €119, and the model will later be released in the United States at a price of $119. At the start of sales in 2024, Fairbuds cost €149, or approximately $162 at the time. The price of the first generation in the United States has now been reduced to $99.99.
