Google will let users customize Discover via an AI chatbot
In the coming days, Google will add a feature to the Google app that allows users to customize recommendations in Discover through a conversation with artificial intelligence. Users will be able to describe what kind of content they want to see, and the system will automatically adjust the selection and remember their preferences for future visits.
The new feature will be available in the three-dot menu in the Discover feed. Selecting it will open a chatbot-style interface where users can specify their preferences for recommendations. The AI will confirm the settings and show which types of content it will prioritize. If the result doesn’t match the request, the user can provide additional details.
To apply the changes, users will need to select the option to refresh the feed. Discover generates recommendations based on user activity in Google Search and other company apps, according to The Verge.

Google also announced the ability to personalize daily audio news summaries in the Google News app for Android. Users will be able to choose the topics they want to hear in the audio compilation.
In addition, the company has updated the Preferred Sources feature, which allows users to see content from selected publications more frequently in the top news section of search results, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Publishers will be able to place an interactive “Preferred Sources” button on their websites so that readers can add media outlets to their list of preferred sources without leaving the webpage.
