Huawei unveils foldable Mate XT2 in China
Chinese company Huawei has unveiled a new version of its flagship foldable smartphone, the Mate XT2, in China. The device folds in two places and, when unfolded, has a tablet-sized screen, Channel NewsAsia reported, citing Reuters.
Kirin 9050 Pro processor
The Mate XT2 is equipped with Huawei's new Kirin 9050 Pro chip. Huawei said the chip's design makes it possible to provide greater computing power while consuming less electricity.
The company also believes this should help it overcome US restrictions on access to advanced technology. Huawei aims to retain its leadership in China's premium smartphone market.

New products from Xiaomi and Apple
Later that same day, Xiaomi was due to unveil a competing foldable smartphone. Apple, for its part, is set to present a new iPhone series on Wednesday.
The release of new devices comes amid Huawei's competition with Xiaomi and Apple in China's premium phone segment.
