Lenovo confirms BIOS issue on Legion Go handheld gaming devices
Lenovo has confirmed that on some Legion Go handheld gaming devices, the screen may fail to display an image while installing the BIOS V42 update. The company has removed the update from its support website and is continuing to review it, The Verge reports.
What Lenovo said
In a statement to the publication, Lenovo said that BIOS V42 was not distributed through Windows Update or the Legion Space app. Users who successfully completed the update do not need to take any additional action.
If the device screen does not display an image during the V42 installation, Lenovo advises holding the power button for about 10 seconds, waiting around a minute, and then turning the device on again. If normal operation does not resume, the company recommends contacting support.

Repair reports
Lenovo's statement came three weeks after a Reddit user showed a bill of nearly $300 for repairing their handheld gaming PC. The Verge also mentions other reports of damaged devices and significant repair costs.
On Lenovo's official forum, a user named DanielLegion, who The Verge estimates may be a company employee, wrote that the issue should be fixed free of charge if the device is under warranty. At the same time, Lenovo's official statement does not contain a separate promise of free repair.
