OpenAI plans to end deal with SpaceX-owned Cursor
OpenAI plans to terminate its agreement to provide artificial intelligence models to Cursor, a company developing a programming tool that is now owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. This was reported by Channel NewsAsia on August 28, citing Reuters.
OpenAI’s position
OpenAI said it was not confident that SpaceX would use its technologies in accordance with the company’s terms of service. The company linked the planned end of the agreement to doubts about compliance with those terms.

SpaceX’s response
SpaceX did not provide an immediate comment in response to a Reuters request sent outside regular business hours. The report does not include any comments from Cursor regarding OpenAI’s plans to end the agreement.
OpenAI announced only its intention to terminate the arrangement, rather than an already completed cessation of model provision. The company made the statement on Friday, August 28, while Channel NewsAsia published the report on August 29.
