Ryanair to Use Google AI for Aircraft Maintenance and Crew Scheduling – Reuters
Ryanair has signed a five-year agreement with Google to implement Gemini tools and DeepMind models to optimize its operations. Artificial intelligence will be used to schedule crew rosters, maintain the aircraft fleet, and automate operational decisions.
As part of the partnership, approximately 35,000 of the airline’s employees will gain access to Google Workspace and Google Cloud services. The airline is transitioning to a dual-cloud strategy, continuing its collaboration with Amazon Web Services to reduce reliance on a single provider and minimize the risk of technological failures.
Thanks to new technologies and platforms such as Gemini Enterprise and Google DeepMind (specifically the AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext models), Ryanair expects to improve the reliability of its operations and achieve its projected growth in passenger traffic to 300 million passengers per year by 2034. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
