The Ukrainian company Swarmer will help the U.S. train military AI
The Ukrainian-American company Swarmer is integrating its drone swarm control system with the SpatialCore platform from the American company Brightline Interactive. This collaboration will allow the combat experience of Ukrainian drones to be used to train artificial intelligence models being developed for the U.S. Department of Defense.
The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding that provides for the integration of Swarmer’s software with the SpatialCore platform developed by Brightline Interactive.
As part of the partnership, the Ukrainian side will provide its own drone swarm control algorithms, which have already proven their effectiveness in real combat conditions. The American company will integrate these solutions with its platform for collecting, processing, and analyzing data.
Swarmer notes that this integration will consolidate information from drones produced by various manufacturers, accelerate the training of artificial intelligence models, and create a unified operational environment for the military.
In addition, the partnership includes joint research and development in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as the use of Brightline Interactive’s contracting mechanisms to advance joint technologies in U.S. Department of Defense projects.
Swarmer President Alex Fink emphasized that combining the two platforms will provide access to data from millions of missions, which will significantly accelerate the training of new AI models.
For his part, Brightline Interactive President Taylor Gates noted that the partnership will allow military customers to obtain a more complete and accurate picture of the operational situation on the battlefield.
Swarmer develops software that enables a single operator to control a group of autonomous drones. While carrying out combat missions, the drones independently coordinate their actions and assign roles among themselves, which increases the effectiveness of operations.
The company reported that since April 2024, Swarmer’s software has facilitated the execution of over 100,000 real combat missions in Ukraine. It is precisely this unique combat experience with autonomous drone swarms that formed the basis for the Ukrainian company’s strategic partnership with the American firm Brightline Interactive.
