55% of Ukrainians Supported Syrsky's Resignation — Poll
The resignation of Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was supported by 55% of Ukrainians surveyed, according to the results of a poll conducted by the “Rating” sociological group on July 20–21, 2026.
Fifteen percent of respondents opposed Syrskyi’s dismissal. Another 19% said they were indifferent to the issue, while 11% selected the option “difficult to answer.”
The pollsters noted that the survey was completed before media reports emerged regarding Syrskyi’s resignation as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On July 20, Syrskyi apologized to former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and stated that he had been unaware of the conflict between them.
At the same time, 72% of survey participants did not support Fedorov’s dismissal from the post of defense minister, while 5% did support it. Seventeen percent of respondents were indifferent to this issue, and another 6% selected the “difficult to answer” option.
The survey was conducted via CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) among 1,000 respondents aged 18 and older in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories and areas where Ukrainian mobile service was unavailable at the time of the survey. The reported margin of error does not exceed 3.1% at a 95% confidence level.
